Kurt Cobains 45th Birthday

Its hard to imagine that Kurt Cobain would be 45 years old today. He died April 5, 1994 at the age of 27 taking his own life.

So much has changed and yet so much really remains the same..

I often ask myself what he would be doing if he was alive now? Would he have done more great work, faded away back to where he came, changed himself completely and gone in a different musical direction?

Sadly we will never know the answers to these questions.

Happy 45th to what is and what could have been.

I don’t know if I can take the statement seriously, but Dave Grohl does seem like someone who would try to pull this off for one song, or rent a anti-gravity room to record it in.

Anyhow the interwebs are filling with stories after taking most awards at the Grammy’s that Dave has said Foo Fighters next album will be recorded in Space.

Foo Fighters Walk Away with 5 Grammy Awards

Foo Fighters ended up taking home 5 of the 6 Grammy Awards they where in the running for. Wasting Light was produced by Butch Vig and Grohl in his garage. Not the whole album, but it makes for a better story. Its the first album Grohl and Vig have done together since Nirvana’s Nevermind.

A outtake from Grohl’s speach:

“To me this award means a lot because it shows that the human element of making music is what’s most important: singing into a microphone and learning to play an instrument and learning to do your craft,” Grohl added, also explaining that “Wasting Light” was recorded in Grohl’s own garage. “That’s the most important thing that you can do. It’s not about being perfect. It’s not about sounding absolutely correct. It’s not about what goes on in a computer. It’s about what goes on in here (motions to head), and it’s about what goes on in here (motions to heart).”

Fender’s Kurt Cobain Signature Guitars

Kurt Cobain is best know in the later part of Nirvana for using his 1965 Fender Jaguar, and his many Fender Mustangs. Fender is now releasing both these in a Kurt Cobain Signature Series.

I have to say I have always loved the look of that 65′ Fender Jaguar.

The Mustang is also a nice looking guitar, and currently a much cheaper option that the Jaguar.
